Be A Princess (a poem for anyone that needs it)

BE A PRINCESS
When you’re feelin’ the blues, stuffing your face with chips
And you’re worried that your waist measures the same as your hips
And while doing the dishes your mani chips and peels
And you could scour pots and pans with your heels
BE A PRINCESS
When your house is in total and complete disarray
When you’re children are fighting more than they play
When your husband forgets your anniversary once more
And at times your life just seems a chore.
BE A PRINCESS
When the dog poops - again - on your favorite rug
When your pants won’t go on without a firm tug
When your eyes have bags and gray streaks your hair
And you wonder if he notices the new dress that you wear
BE A PRINCESS
So today tell everyone who needs something - NOW!
To slay their own dragons cause you're tweezing your brows
Then you're soaking in bubbles, and painting your toes,

And buying impractical shoes and treating yourself to a show.

BECAUSE YOU ARE A PRINCESS
Just for today.
